Thinking with symbols argument

I realize that the sensory system gives you a lot of information, and not all the details can be captured in a symbolic representation. However, it is not clear that humans retain much of that information either. The long term memory seems to convert what you see into symbolic representations (like picture frames). It is plausible that thinking is also done using such representations.
